John Sisk & Son: Delivering excellence for 160 years
John Sisk & Son Director of Business Development Tim Petch.

In association with John Sisk & Son

John Sisk & Son is Ireland’s leading construction company and has worked with a range of US multinationals in the pharma, life sciences, data centre and other sectors in Ireland and Europe for many years.

This year, John Sisk & Son celebrates 160 years in operation and we continue to strive to deliver excellence for our clients with safety at the heart of everything we do.

Ever since our earliest beginnings in 1859, John Sisk & Son has always trusted in the skills and vision of our people to drive our relentless spirit of innovation.

Our commitment to delivering excellence and innovation has led us to a business model that is built on strong, long-lasting relationships where 70 per cent of our business stems from existing clients.

Since our first forays into the Data Centre/ICT sector in the early 1980s, Sisk has had a continued, proven track record in delivering high-end, mission critical projects for domestic and multinational micro-electronics, data and ICT clients across Ireland and the UK.

As a progressive, international engineering and construction company, we stand out from our industry peers thanks to our belief in client-supplier collaboration; our high standards of efficient, construction-led delivery; our extensive European supply chain network; and our focus on driving value for every project we undertake without any compromises on safety.

Working across sectors as progressive and varied as Data and Technology, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Infrastructure, Transportation, Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, Retail, Industrial, Leisure, Education and Energy, our vast collective experience and flexible mindsets allow our key people to collaborate with yours seamlessly, and tailor each process to meet your own specific needs.

We’re equally comfortable delivering projects with a Construction Management, Managing Contractor or EPCM (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management) approach, and we also deliver specialist Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) services to clients in the life sciences and pharma sectors.

We can help clients deliver better projects, more effectively the earlier we get involved by managing and coordinating the key design elements of complex projects from the planning stage, through to site mobilisation and on to final completion on programme.

We have constructed, commissioned and often led the design of facilities for a broad range of global brand leaders such as Analog Devices, bet365, Data Electronics (now Equinix), Dell, Digital Reality Trust, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Microsoft and Seagate.

In order to retain the specialist skills necessary for outstanding delivery in the Data/ICT sector, we have assembled and continue to add to, a dedicated division of particularly talented people whose sole focus is on Data Centres/ICT.

Both individually and collectively, our people bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every Data Centre/ICT project that Sisk undertakes, helping us to achieve our aims of maximum success for each and every client, many of whom have adopted our delivered systems for use worldwide.

We have delivered over €2 billion in mission critical facilities to this sector in the last 25 years.

For decades now, John Sisk & Son has been successfully delivering a variety of Data Centre projects to key sites around Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. Although individually different, each new centre is the result of our world-class construction process, and further proof of our reputation for delivering.

Over the course of several large-scale cloud infrastructure projects, a number of these centres have come about thanks to our long-standing working relationship with a large multinational client.

Their latest project involved an ambitious 27-month construction programme culminating in a December 2017 handover date, and thanks to both our collaborative planning and expert use of our innovative 4D BIM technology, we were able to deliver on time.

Given Ireland’s position as a key European location for the global pharmaceutical industry, Sisk has been at the forefront of innovative pharmaceutical construction for decades. We have delivered projects in excess of €2 billion over the last 15 years.

As a result of our knowledge and experience in the sector, we are in a unique position to add significant value to any Pharmaceutical / Healthcare Project. To date we have worked with over 50 Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Companies in Ireland /UK and have developed state of the art manufacturing, distribution and administration facilities.

Between our scale, capacity and overall long-term vision, we are an ideal fit for even the largest, most complex, multi-disciplinary programmes, where we always find that early interaction and collaboration between our clients and ourselves is key to a successful outcome where our most valued asset in Data Centre/ICT delivery comes in: our people.

Thanks to the unique knowledge and expertise of our people, allied with our company-wide spirit of innovation, we naturally understand the complexities and specific needs of our clients’ base.

In the pharma, biotech, medical devices and consumer products sectors, we are the supplier of choice for many highly respected and pioneering names across the industry.

Recognising the need to retain specialist skills in this unique area, we have assembled a dedicated division who only work in the Life Sciences sector. This team brings detailed experience of how to maximise potential for success in each and every client situation.

We put safety first in all that we do, in every aspect of what we are-our people, our company, our partners, our processes, procedures, our beliefs and the communities we serve.

We manage with a commitment and determination to do whatever it takes to operate with Zero Incidents, Zero Injuries.
