For over 200 years Muckross Park Hotel has welcomed guests and has provided a location for guests to rest and dine. Local produce is key to creating great menus such as Ballinskelligs Duck, Kerry Lamb and fresh seafood from the Atlantic Ocean.

This year guests enjoyed superb 8-course tasting menus with dishes such as Ham Hock Terrine, Quail, Prawn Scampi, Killorglin Pork, Castletownbere Lobster and Rose Veal. The hotel also won an AA Rosette for food in Yew Tree Restaurant.

Building on this success the hotel has created a series of Gourmet Night Experiences. Leading chefs and cooking celebrities have been invited to showcase their skills and create menus for the public.

In October 2012 Martin Shanahan of Fishy Fishy and RTE fame held a cookery demonstration at the hotel followed by dinner. In February this year Michelin Star chef Derry Clarke of L’Ecrivain Restaurant in Dublin held a ‘Dine Michelin Star for 1 night in Killarney’ and this was attended by 150 people.

Recently famous TV Chef Rachel Allen of Ballymaloe Cookery School had a cookery demonstration and light dinner which was attended by nearly 200 people. The success of these Gourmet Nights has made Muckross Park Hotel a notable destination for great quality food and superb service.
