CK in the building heyday, Castlelands raised the bar a bit for many of Co Cork’s longer-established home builders, giving a higher spec than the market had been used to — or at least was being offered.
Case in point is the The Willows, in Castleheights, Carrigaline, South Cork, where No 26 is for sale and has already gone over its €165,000 asking price.
A three-bed terraced home, it has a central vacuum system, plus underfloor heating.
Selling agent is Suzanne Keating of REA O’Donoghue Clarke, who notes it was built in 2006, and these tall houses with neat cedar strips down the front facade sold then for over €300,000 a pop.
She describes No 26 as “a superior townhouse, finished to a high standard”.
It overlooks a green/recreation area, has off-street parking on a cobble-lock drive, and behind a small patio off the dining space is also done in cobble lock, with an enclosed garden with shed.
The front sitting room is 16ft deep, but only 10ft wide, and the kitchen/diner’s 16ft wide, and 13ft deep, with tiled floor. There’s also a ground floor guest loo.
Upstairs one of the three bedrooms has a shower en suite, and there’s a tall towel rad at the end of the bath with overhead shower in the main family bathroom.
VERDICT: Walk-in Carrigaline option
