THE location of 51 Ardkeale in Mount Oval, Rochestown, Cork, was popular enough to bring in a bid — a very quick bid — above the asking price of €225,000.
Built in 2004 it’s a mid-terraced two bed house with 850 sq ft of living space and two designated parking spaces.
Auctioneer Michael Piggott says it’s a modern, well maintained property in a superb location.
“We’ve had interest from first time buyers, investors and people trading down. It went on the market on Thursday and we had the offer by Monday,” says Mr Piggott.
Accommodation includes a tiled kitchen/dining room with modern fitted units, a guest WC and a spacious tiled living room at the rear with a green feature wall.
Upstairs there’s a bathroom and two pine floored bedrooms with built in wardrobes.

“It’s within minutes walk from shops and amenities in Mount Oval village and is just a short drive from Douglas,’’ says Mr Pigott.
Both the popularity of Mount Oval and the strength of the property recovery can be seen by the fact that 33 sales were recorded there on the Property Price Register in 2016.
This follows just five sales there in 2015 and six in 2014.
In August last year, No 96 Ardkeale another two bed terraced townhouse is recorded as selling for €240,000.
