MFO Property Professionals is a new Dublin estate agency, which started in September with three directors. It has since added three more staff and will be up to eight before its first anniversary, says co-founder Marcus O’Connor.
“We are hiring, not firing,” he quips, while seeming to fire on all cylinder is their Killiney Co Dublin offering, at 5A, Albany Court, off the Shanganagh Road near amenities in both Dalkey and Killine.
Built in mature, wooded grounds with tall tree trunks (copper beech, sycamore, etc) as vertical exclamation marks and markers for its sweep of decking, it is one of a dozen or so houses in a cul de sac, and was built by the Anglesea Partnership, to a design by well-regarded architect Denis Byrne.
With a sleek, contemporary brick exterior, and living areas with large glazed windows/doors that pull back to open up the deck, and grounds as that cliched – but great when the sun shines ‘garden room’ – has a top level master bedroom suite, opening to a flat roof balcony with sand-blasted glass balusters, and the lower garden level has two further bedrooms, one of which could be sub-divided to create a fourth bedroom.
The main living space is open plan, taking in a white Snaidero kitchen with stone tops, and through most of the house exterior walls are pure white render, or floor-to-ceiling, so expect overall brightness as a given, even if summer greenery closes in the boundaries a bit.
There’s a good overall feel of quality, floors are mostly walnut, kitchen appliances are by Neff, heating is underfloor with some energy efficient features, and the house is Smart-wired for entertainment and IT connections.
No 5a was first put up for sale in September last with another agent and an AMV of €1.25m was then quoted. It was put up for rent subsequently, at about €2,200 per month, but the new selling AMV now with new agents MFO is €900,000.
They say the south county Dublin house is “perfect for couples with young families,” with a huge range of facilities nearby.
