This is located on Harbour View Road (behind Discount Fuel Station with entrance via Hollyville Estate). New growers welcome. Come without seedlings, leave with some! It will be from 11am-1pm on Saturday, April 25.

Bandon Flower Club present a talk by Tina Coyne, Milliner, Elizabeth Christina Design, Kinsale, and a Mini Flower Arranging Demonstration in The Munster Arms Hotel on Monday, April 20, at 8pm. A Plant Sale will also be held. Visitors very welcome.

Dungarvan Flower & Garden Club, presents a floral demonstration at the Park Hotel on May 6 at 8pm [doors open at 7.30pm] with AOIFA demonstrator Betty Holdeb. Admission €5 for members or €10 for non members.

Ladysbridge and District Flower and Garden Club will meet on Monday, April 20, at 8pm in Garryvoe Hotel. There will be a floral demonstration with Mary McKee, AOIFA demonstrator, and all arrangements will be raffled. There will also be a club competition entitled ‘Springtime’. New members and visitors very welcome.

Cork Hardy Plant Society presents Sally Gregson of Mill Cottage Plants, Somerset, on Thursday, April 30, to discuss “Shady Ladies, Damp Damsels”. Plants for sale from Mill Cottage, the Lavanagh Centre, Ballintemple at 8pm, All are welcome.

Blarney Garden and Flower Club have a Garden Tour to Cedar Lodge, Midleton, on Thursday, April 23, at 6pm. Members Only.

The next meeting of the Owenabue Garden and Flower Club, Carrigaline, will be held on Monday, April 27, at 8pm in the Church of Ireland school hall. Paddy and Mary Tobin, Waterford, will give a talk on “Mount Congreve” through the seasons. Visitors are welcome. Enquiries to 086-3222615.

Youghal Flower & Garden Club will host a ‘floral delights’ demonstration by Ann Cooney AOIFA on Wednesday, April 22, at the Walter Raleigh Hotel at 8 pm. This demonstration is in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Disease. Competition & plant sale on night.

Ardfield Rathbarry Gardening Club will host April Danann to speak on the topic “The healing power of plants” on Thursday, April 23, in Rathbarry Parish Hall at 8pm. All are welcome.

Charleville Flower and Garden Club are hosting Beatrice Hartog ( AOIFA) on Monday, April 27, at 8pm for a Floral Demonstration entitled “A Floral Rendezvous”. Usual venue, St Vincent’s Hall, Charleville. Visitors welcome.

Mallow Flower and Garden Club will host Brid Nagle of Sliabh Luachra Garden centre to give a talk on hanging baskets and containers at Mercy Centre, Mallow on April 21 at 8pm.

Peter Dowdall will present a gardening class at The Pavilion Garden Centre in Cork on Wednesday next, April 22, at 10.30am. Topic: Gardening for beginners. For more info see www.thepavilion.ie

Back with a bloom: Bloom returns for its ninth annual horticultural and family event from May 28 to June 1. Bord Bia has announced the return of its much-anticipated gardening, food and family festival, Bloom.

Ireland’s largest garden and food festival will run for five days over the June bank holiday weekend in the Phoenix Park, Dublin from Thursday, May 28 until Monday, 1st June. Tickets are on sale now and visitors are encouraged to book early for discounted rates by visiting www.bloominthepark.com

Workshops Wedding flowers for the DIY Bride & Church and Venue flowers for the DIY Bride. Maree O’Sullivan is running two workshops in Carrigaline Community School from 1.30pm-6.30pm; the cost is €35 plus materials.

The first is wedding flowers for the DIY bride which takes place on Wednesday, April 29, and the second one is church and venue flowers for the DIY Bride on Wednesday, May 6. Contact Maree O’Sullivan 087-2397289 for more info and to book a place.

Free gardening class at The Secret Garden, Newmarket Sunday, April 26, 3pm; Growing Tomatoes — the secrets of success for tomatoes. Suitable for all levels, all are welcome. Clare Garden Festival will be held again on the last Sunday in April (26). Now in its fourth year the popular event will feature a large-scale Garden and Food Fair with stalls from all over Ireland and offers all-day expert garden talks on an accessible stage.
