Clonakilty Flower Club will host a show on “Spring Magic” in Fernhill House Hotel on Monday March 9 at 8pm. Viewing begins at 7.30pm.

A talk by Mary Keenan, of Gosh Gardens on the topic: ‘Shady Corners’ will be held on March 12 at 8pm in Ashton School..

Innishannon Flower and Garden club will host Willie Grainer to talk on the magic of spring on Wednesday, March 11 at 8pm in Barrett’s lounge and Willie will also give valuable hints and tips on general planting and garden maintenance. New members and visitors most welcome.

Skibbereen Flower and Garden Club is holding a demonstration with Carmel O Driscoll from Bandon in Abbeystrewery Hall on Wednesday, March 11 at 8.15pm. All very welcome

Griffin’s Garden centre is holding demonstrations and talks on seasonal topics for the month of March. This Saturday’s topic is in line with National Tree week and will be about trees to suit the garden with 20% off ornamental and fruit trees

“Devonshire Day” at Lismore Castle will take place on March 22 and visitors can take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea served by the castle butler in the Pugin Room and experience a tour of Lismore Castle’s spring gardens with the head gardener.

“Devonshire Day” is a fundraiser organised by the ‘Immrama Festival of Travel Writing’ committee. The Immrama Festival runs from June 11 to June 14, 2015.

After tea, visitors can experience a guided tour of Lismore Castle Gardens, which are set in seven acres within the 17th century outer defensive walls and have spectacular views of the castle and the surrounding countryside.

Tea and tours take place at 11.30am; 12.40pm; 1.50pm; 3.00pm and 4.10pm. Entrance is by ticket only. Children under 10 go free but must be pre-registered with the ticket office.
