* The Secret Garden will welcome author, TV & radio presenter, Fiann Ó Nualláin on Sunday, July 6, for a talk which will begin at 3pm sharp. Fiann will be making up a selection of recipes using plants from the garden, eg, treatment for sun burn and wasp stings, face masks, etc. The event is free and all are welcome. * Carlow Garden Festival, (Friday, July 25 – Monday, August 4, will have Carol Klein of Gardeners’ World to open the 2014 event with the best line-up ever, say festival organisers.For its 13th year, Carlow offers something for everyone — from novice gardeners to garden connoisseurs, garden designers to nature lovers and grandparents to grandchildren.
