Bargain buy as spacious Wyndham Downs property hits the market

TWO great bargains can be had in Ballincollig this week, and at the risk of hitting the ‘reasons to be cheerful’ button — now is the time to buy.

First on the list is a four-bed, detached house at 61 Wyndham Downs on the market with Norma Healy of Sherry FitzGerald for €495,000.

Tucked away at the end of a private driveway, this house comes with two ensuite bedrooms and a floor area of 1,600 square feet.

And best of all, it has a big, sunroom extension at the rear which leads onto a lawn and a deck.

There’s a formal living room with cast iron fireplace, a large family room with black granite fireplace and the kitchen/diner is shaker maple. The bedrooms are all doubles, save for one and the main bathroom comes with a jacuzzi bath.

The vendors have already purchased, says Norma Healy, and are committed sellers — hence the reasonable guide.

Further up the main Cork/Macroom road, at Classes Lake, another must-sell property is on the market with Pat Clancy of Global Properties at 64 Fernway.

It’s a four-bed duplex apartment and it’s pitched at €289,000 — a rock-bottom price, according to Clancy. The owners have emigrated and leaving behind their professionally decorated apartment. At 1,200 sq ft, it has a big kitchen dining room (21’ by 13’) and a living room leading onto a large terrace.

The stairs hallway, with guest loo, leads to four overhead bedrooms, one of which is used as an office, with master en suite. This floor also has a main bathroom.

The duplex has a designated parking space.
