IRELAND: Waterford TD John Deasy has declared his support for Social Protection Minister Leo Varadkar, in what will be a further major blow to Simon Coveney’s bid to succeed Enda Kenny. Earlier, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan had said he will also be voting for Varadkar.

IRELAND: Irish woman Elaine O'Donovan has died in Lanzarote after drowning. A 29-year-old man is reported to have been arrested on suspicion of failing to assist her.
