Gardaí in Kerry are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 40s after his body was found in his living room.

The man, who has been named locally as Brian Looby, was found in his house in Glenbeigh shortly after 4pm yesterday.

It is understood that he may have died after a fire broke out in the living room of the house.

The man's body was taken to Kerry general hospital, where a post mortem is due to be carried out later today.
