The new Baleno hatchback model from Suzuki will go on sale here Ireland in June.
Features of the car include a new 1.0-litre three cylinder engine which sees the second application of Suzuki’s Boosterjet technology and this 111bhp direct injection turbocharged engine will offer a wide spread of torque with peak available from 2,000rpm.
The Baleno will also see the launch of Suzuki’s first mild hybrid system featuring a four- cylinder 1.2-litre smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki offering latest mild hybrid and Dualjet technology with CO2 emissions of 94g/km.
The car is built on an all-new platform featuring the latest development in high tensile steel construction and results in a very low kerb weight of 935kg (1.2-litre smart hybrid vehicle model). Six airbags fitted as standard on all Baleno models.
Satellite navigation, Bluetooth and air conditioning are fitted as standard, while such as radar brake support and adaptive cruise control will be fitted as standard to SZ5 grade.
Priced from €17,995 for SZ-T 1.0-litre Boosterjet and €18,995 for SZ5 1.2-litre smart hybrid vehicle version — both with manual transmission, the model will go on sale next month. Suzuki Ireland say it plans to sell 400 Baleno units in the first full year and 26,000 throughout Europe.
