Audi to recall 2,740 A$ versions

Audi Ireland is recalling the vehicle models the A4 Saloon, A4 Avant and A4 allroad, which were manufactured between November, 2011 and mid-October, 2014, for a software update of the airbag-control unit. 2,740 vehicles are being recalled in Ireland. Audi say this is a precaution taken by the company worldwide — except in North America.

During in-house tests and simulations, which are part of continuous product monitoring, it was discovered that, in rare instances, the front airbags do not inflate correctly in an accident. The rectification process will involve a software update in the airbag-control unit. No cases have been reported by customers.
