THE Morgiana Hurdle has cut up quite a bit which is a pity. It’s a real trappy race and I’m not quite sure what is going to make the running which is a bit of a worry as Oscars Well would like a proper pace.

THE IRISH flat season doesn’t come to an end until tomorrow week but with Bostons Angel, Oscars Well and Saludos all making their seasonal reappearances at Down Royal, it’s probably best to look back at what has thankfully been another very successful campaign for me.

HENRY de Bromhead continued his terrific start to the season when saddling 40-1 shot Case Jove, almost 190-1 on the tote, to land the Cashel Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel yesterday.

YOU can say you’re into the national hunt season proper when you get to October, although it looks like Down Royal at the beginning of November will be when Bostons Angel, Oscars Well and Saludos will make their seasonal reappearances.

DUNDALK is going to trial a reduced interval of time between races from next month and it is certainly worth doing in my opinion. What they’re planning is to reduce the gap between some races from the usual 30 minutes to 25.

I HAVE been away for most of the week at the Keeneland Sales in Kentucky and it was a useful exercise.

HORSES can make liars of you at times and it happened to me again during the week, although in this case, I was quite happy about it all.

The good thing about being involved in horse racing is that you don’t get a complex about things going wrong for you. Racing is a great leveller so you’re just used to things not going your way.

YESTERDAY’S journey north to Down Royal was certainly worthwhile and any day you have a treble is a very good one.
