Ian Bailey’s legal team has given the minister for justice and Garda commissioner seven days to stop assisting a French investigation into the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier or else face High Court proceedings.

Ian Bailey’s solicitor Frank Buttimer has condemned as a “charade” and a “complete sham” the pending investigation by French police of the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

The only son of murdered Frenchwoman Sophie Toscan du Plantier has insisted somebody must stand trial for his mother’s death.

A TEAM of detectives and forensic scientists arrived in Cork yesterday afternoon to interview a number of witnesses in connection with the murder, 15 years ago, of French documentary filmmaker Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
