WHAT a curious set of priorities one must hold such that with a global financial crisis, not to mention the litany of problems we face at home, one would be motivated to complain about some media referring to the partner of the late Stephen Gately as his “husband”.

IT never fails to amaze me and many like me how vengeful some children’s rights groups get about clerical child abuse while they appear to be deaf, dumb and blind to the other forms of child abuse taking place all around them, both at home and abroad.

YOUR columnist Rónán Mullen (Irish Examiner, Sept 3), rightly states that the time has come for “new structures to address the increased social and cultural acceptability of abortion in this country.” He then goes on to list a number of areas that pro-lifers should attend to because he says the Government won’t.
