WHEN I was younger I was really tall. I was always in the back of class photos, people would always comment on my size and I was really aware of being a ‘bigger kid.’ Up until the time my twin and I turned 15 or 16 I was a good few inches taller than her, so much so that no one thought we were the same age.

I have ‘just’ the one child and for years I felt down about it. I always felt slightly apologetic when asked about how many children I have and I would say ‘just the one.’ I grew to really dislike the word ‘just’!

A total of 27 athletes have been selected for the Irish team for the European Cross Country Championships to be held in Samorin, Slovakia this weekend. Ireland has entries in senior men’s and women’s as well as in the U20 category. Fionnuala McCormack (Kilcoole) will make a record-breaking 15th appearance on Sunday.
