Students going on a J1 trip to the US are being warned of websites overcharging for a visa.
Students who took part in the J1 visa programme last year could be entitled to a refund of over €600.
It’s that time of year again - when young Irish people head off to the States on their J1 for a summer of fun, adventure and sleeping ten to a room.
The US Embassy has said it is working to ensure all students eligible for the J1 visa can avail of it.
Students planning on heading to the US on a J1 Visa this summer are being warned that they will need to find a job in advance.
Fewer people will apply for J1 visas after changes to the programme, according to the Union of Students in Ireland (USI).
“They’re having a good time out there!”
