A farmer who started the campaign to have farmers compensated for loss of income due to a ban on agricultural activity in hen harrier conservation areas has declared his interest in running as a Fianna Fáil candidate in the next European Parliament elections.
Politics has always been a family matter for newly elected TD Aindrias Moynihan. Yesterday may have been his first day to take a seat in the Dáil as an elected representative for Cork North West, but he is certainly no stranger to Leinster House.
On foot of the last Boundary Commission, Cork North Central gained 11 electoral divisions and a population of 17,307 from Cork South Central. It also lost four electoral divisions with a population of 5,048 to Cork North West, and it remains a four-seat constituency.
