Is it really eight years since the last New Order album? The Manc electronica outfit have announced a new release, Music Complete, for September 25, complete with keyboard player Gillian Gilbert, albeit without bass player Bernard Sumner who has been estranged from the band since 2007.
Torquil Campbell gets on people’s nerves. The Stars frontman once interrupted a Dublin concert with a screed about child abuse and has merrily waged Twitter feuds with indie pop kindred, The Magnetic Fields, and scenester bible, Pitchfork.
PETER HOOK emits a blokey chuckle. "Ian Curtis had very big shoes to fill," says the former Joy Division and New Order bassist. "Bernard Sumner’s shoes aren’t that big actually — about the same size as mine. So that worked out okay."
