A Fianna Fáil councillor has called for the removal of the LGBT community’s rainbow flag from above Cork’s City Hall, one of the world’s longest cruise liners docked in Cork today and Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has been voted the 2015 Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association.

DRAG artist Panti Bliss’s speech on homophobia, in the Abbey Theatre on February 2, is one of the greats of Irish politics, up there with Robert Emmet’s parting words. For anyone who has followed Bliss’s (real name Rory O’Neill) career, this is not surprising.
