Applications are now being taken for Horticulture courses at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa (CSN).

The courses which begin in September include full-time QQI level 5 and level 6 in Horticulture, and the RHS level 2 evening course.

  • St. Lappan’s Church Little Island is the venue today for an autumn fair (in aid of church restoration) at 2pm. Plant stall, garden produce cakes, bric-a-brac and children’s corner. Teas served. Please support this cause

  • GIY Clonakilty returns after the summer break on Monday, Sept 12 at 8 pm in O’Donovan’s Hotel. A special evening is planned to showcase the GIY gardening year with three meetings rolled into one. Contact 086-3451175

  • Kanturk Flower and Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, September 14 at 8pm in the Temperance Hall, Kanturk. Guest speaker, Sarah Evans will talk on “How to grow you own cut flowers”. All welcome, €5 including refreshments.

  • Ballincollig Flower and Garden Club will reconvene on Monday September 12 at 8pm, in the Oriel House Hotel Ballincollig with a teaching demonstration entitled “Pot Luck” by Breda Crowey AOIFA on the Imposed Competition Class. Visitors welcome. Admission for non-members €5.

  • Youghal Flower & Garden Club will host a garden talk by Shay Joyce on Wed Sept 14 at the Walter Raleigh Hotel at 8 pm. Admission for non-members €8. Competition on night.

  • Conna & District Flower &Garden Club returns on Weds September 21 at Conna Hall for a teaching demo by Maureen O’Keeffe (AOIFA). www.connaflowerandgardenclub.org

  • Carrigtwohill Flower & Garden Club will host Susan Turner on Tuesday, September, 20 at 8pm in Carrigtwohill Community Hall to talk on ‘September Gardening’. €5. All Welcome.

  • Innishannon Flower and Garden club will meet on Wednesday, Sept 14 at 6.45pm at Lisselan Gardens, Clonakilty to walk the spectacular gardens.

  • Ladysbridge and District Flower Club will host Christine Hughes for a demo on ‘Autumn Glory’ at Garryvoe Hotel on Monday, September 19 at 8pm

  • Flower demonstration with Eileen O’ Brien, AOIFA on September 16 at 8pm in Tracton Community Centre, in aid of Special Olympics and Cork Federation ICA. Entry Fee €10 contact Margaret on 086 3773509
