Mitchelstown Flower and Garden Club are hosting a teaching and work night demonstration with Bernadette Scanlon at the Town Hall on Thursday, October 30 at 8pm. 

Everyone welcome. Please bring foliage and flowers and a container if you would like to work on the night.

Ardfield Rathbarry Gardening Club will host Lydia Busby on Thursday October 30 to talk on ‘Growing flowers in a tunnel’ at 8pm in the Parish Hall. All Welcome.

The Lough Flower and Garden Club will have a seasonal demonstration by Beatrice Hartog AOIFA entitled “Trick or Treat” at 8pm in the SMA Centre Wilton on Tuesday, October 28. Everyone welcome, visitors €5.

Glenville Flower & Garden Club will meet on Tuesday October 28 in Kades Kounty at 8.30pm . Mike Murphy will give a talk on: “Glenville — a sense of place”. This will be an admission-free night and all are welcome.

AOIFA National Council Meeting will be held in Limerick, on Thursday November 6. Coach organised from Cork to meeting — to book a place, contact: 086 6050882.

‘Art and the Orchid’ is the subject of a lecture at the National Botanic Gardens on Monday evening next, when RHS artist, Derborah Lambkin will discuss her recent trip to the World Orchid Conference in South Africa. This will be a visual presentation with a question and answers session. The lecture will take place at the Education and Visitor Centre at Glasnevin, at 7.30pm. The event is organised with the Irish Orchid Society and the Irish Society of Botanical Artists.

Peter Dowdall will run a gardening class at The Pavilion Garden Centre, Ballygarvan on Wednesday, October 29 at 10.30am on ‘Autumn jobs for Springtime dividends’. For more info see www.thepavilion.ie  or call 021 4888134.
