¦ Castlelyons Home and Garden Club are hosting ’Flowers and Food for Christmas Entertaining’ at 8pm, on Friday, Nov 8, in Castlelyons community centre.

Floral demo, by Ina McCarthy, Midleton; festival food by Catherine Hickey. Charities to benefit are Arc Support House and Marymount Hospice. Cheese/ wine and refreshments served and a mini trade fair will be held. All welcome, admission €10. Contact Ann Barry, 086-2381611.

¦ Aherla Flower and Garden Club are hosting a Christmas demonstration by Catherine Shields, on Tuesday Nov 5 at 8pm in the Parish Centre, Ovens, Co Cork. Visitors are welcome. The admission is €5. Contact Ina Hennessy, (087-7669812).

¦ East Cork Flower Club is holding its AGM on Monday Nov 4 at 7.30 pm in St John the Baptist national school, Midleton, followed by a talk from Ashleigh McSweeney, ITEC, on complimentary therapy.

¦ The Irish Garden Plant Society (IGPS) will meet on Tuesday Nov 5 in the SMA Hall, Wilton, Cork at 8pm. Jean Perry will give an illustrated talk: “Gardening at the Glebe Gardens, Baltimore”. The five acres of garden at the Glebe feature in the Guide to Irish Gardens and contain all plant varieties.

¦ Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club will hold its annual mass for deceased members in Cobh community centre on Monday, Nov 4, at 8pm. Refreshments and a talk by Mary Smullen on ‘Laughter and Love’, is included.

¦ CorK GIY’s November meeting will have Caragh and Aidan O’Donoghue, winners of ‘Operation GIY Nation Family of the Year’, to talk on ‘From Beginner to Winner’, at 7.30pm, at South Parish Community Centre, Cork, on Tuesday Nov 5. The talk will be aimed at new beginners but all are welcome. No admission. Free parking.

¦ Ballincollig Flower & Garden Club will host a Christmas gala demonstration, by Carol Bone, AOIFA president, on Monday, Nov 11, at 7.30pm in Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig, Co Cork. The title is “At Home for Christmas”. Tickets are €15, including refreshments. Everyone welcome.

¦ A Christmas extravaganza, entitled ‘The Most Magical Time of The Year’, will take place on Thursday Nov 14, at 8.00pm, in St Multose Hall , Kinsale. Eileen O’Brien of AOIFA will demonstrate. Refreshments served.

¦ A floral demonstration, by DJ Murphy, in aid of Marymount University Hospice takes place on Thurs Nov 14, at 8.00pm at the Hospice, Curraheen. Tickets €15 and numbers are limited.

¦ Bantry Flower and Garden Club will meet on Nov 4, 8pm, at the Leisure Centre of the Westlodge Hotel. Lorna Finnegan, head gardener of Bantry House, will give a garden talk. Visitors always welcome.
