Go geo with this funky roasting dish(above). I don’t know if it makes the spuds taste any better, but it will look spectacular on the table. €12.99 from TK Maxx. http://www.tkmaxx.com

Check out this stunning quilt during Cork Craft Month (below). It was pieced by Mary Palmer and five other professional quilters as a group project, but the quilting was done solely by Mary. It took between 80 and 100 hours to complete. Mary recently won three awards in the RDS craft competition, along with her collaborator Anne Kiely, for Literary Landscape. They won the category prize for Embellished Textiles, the Irish Patchwork Society Award, and the William Smith O’Brien Perpetual Challenge Cup. You can pick up a copy of the 2017 Cork Craft Month programme at any of Cork Craft Month event venues throughout August or for the full schedule of events, check out Facebook/ corkcraftdesign. Paul Broughall is a Kildare artist who’s going up in the pecking order on social media with his Artistic Chicks series. Basically, five yellow decorative chicks paint celebrities as chickens. It’s got lots of attention from the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Stephen Fry, Courteney Cox, and Cher on Twitter, has featured on Buzzfeed, and Kris Jenner liked his picture on Instagram. But the chicks don’t just paint celebrities, they’re quite the talented quintuplets, they replicate classic art like the Mona Lisa and The Girl With The Pearl Earring as chicks. The canvasses fit in the palm of your hand but I’m told there will be prints available very soon for wall art. Paul takes commissions, if you know someone who would look great as a cool chick, it’s yours for €50. Follow him on Twitter: @paulieblogger or @artistichicks on Instagram or find him on Etsy.
