Esther N McCarthy sets her sights on adorable angels and reindeer food for the larder
H&M’s winter interiors wonderland is all about the mystique of a winter garden. Decadent reds, fresh greens and crisp whites all tied in with cosy textures, floral patterns and chic metallics. We love this bedroom look. See www2.hm.com/en_ie/home for more inspiration.
Cork-based artist, Cora Murphy has had a busy year, her students have just exhibited in St Peter’s and she’s mad busy with her book project called ‘Home’. Advance purchase is €15, and €20 after December 25. It would make a beautiful stocking filler for a favourite art lover. It brings together her 10 years of painting in Ireland. Pictured here is Cora’s oil on canvas, ‘Love Like a Landslide’. Cora is donating €5 from the sale of each copy to Simon and it is a limited edition with only 1,000 copies printed. How adorable are these angels by ceramist John Quinn? He and the talented crew at Bizarro Ceramics have created these just for Christmas. A slightly alternative twist on the traditional angel on the tree, but my bet is the kids will love these ones. They’re available in The Design & Craft Studio, Main Street, Charleville. Find them on Facebook and Twitter.
Good news for anyone thinking of a new bathroom for the new year. You’re looking at superb craftsmanship with beautiful cabinetry styling and we love the fact the freestanding unit features two doors and three drawers, when it comes to bathroom storage space, you can’t have enough, am I right? Feast your eyes on this magical reindeer food from Tesco. It’s €2 and all proceeds go straight to Temple St . “Sprinkle on the lawn tonight! Festive magic will make it sparkle bright. As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam, This will guide them to your home.” It’s a combination of delicious oats donated by Whites and magic glitter — won’t Rudolf be pleased!
How snuggly does this blanket with sleeves look? And here I’ve been using a sleeveless blanket like a schmuck all these years. These ingenious designs are €18.99 each and are available in three different colours. Get thee to one of the 130 Aldi stores nationwide, they hit stores last Thursday. www.aldi.ie
We love when we hear about cool companies here on Wishlist. Rachel McCormack, originally from Templeogue, Dublin, got in contact with us recently to tell us about the artisan company she’s set up with her husband Giovanni in Puglia, Italy. They carve a range of products out of a local limestone that contains precious fossil fragments. They have over 50 designs but we love this limited edition Christmas Tree. Rachel tells me they are only available on Amazon at www.amazon.co.uk/handmade/sayingitwithstone and everything is under €30.
