Dining room, drawing room and bedroom furniture all feature at a house contents auction by Lynes and Lynes in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork next Saturday, Nov 23.

Cork furniture on offer includes a Georgian sideboard and a long case clock. Estimates are reasonable. There is an Irish Georgian bookcase, antique card and side tables, chairs and a collection of books of Cork interest.

The sale also offers porcelain, glass, pictures, prints and household effects. Viewing is from 10am to 8pm next Thursday and Friday and the auction gets underway at 11am on this day week.

A very reasonably estimated, Cork Georgian sideboard, one of a number of Cork pieces on offer, is estimated at just €300-€500.

At this price it represents a real bargain, and it is typical of the sort of good value furniture to be had at sales these days.

Also on offer is a Cork longcase clock and an original walnut davenport.

There is a Georgian what-not, an Irish Georgian bookcase; antique card and side tables and various chests of drawers, drawing room chairs and easy chairs. Local items always create a stir and this sale offers a collection of books of Cork interest, particularly a set of bound volumes of the Journal of the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society (JCHAS).
