A diamond solitaire to be auctioned next week for €65,000 to €75,000.
A 6.54-carat round diamond ring, with two emerald-cut diamonds on either side, sold for a hammer-price of €87,000 at Sheppard’s in Durrow last week. Next week, it is the turn of O’Reilly’s of Francis St., in Dublin, whose regular monthly auction, next Wednesday (July 23), features a pear-shaped diamond solitaire ring for €65,000-75,000.
It is one of a number of diamonds of large size. These are of increasing interest to investors. There are big-brand watches by Cartier, Rolex and Omega, and intricate jewellery pieces. The sale is on view from noon to 4pm tomorrow (Sun, July 20), 11am to 5pm on Tuesday, and from 10am to 12.30pm on Wednesday. The sale starts at 1pm.
