The Menu shall be hitting the high road for the excellent Savour Kilkenny food festival (Oct 22-26) in one of Ireland’s great culinary capitals.
This year’s programme is seemingly bigger and better than ever including: Neven Maguire cooking and conversing with his friend, RTÉ presenter Mary Kennedy; the ever-popular Happy Pear siblings, David and Stephen Flynn; Best Young Chef in the World Mark Moriarty whose event at the recent Dingle food fest was stuffed to the rafters as was that of Rory O’Connell, also appearing.
Local stars include Edward Hayden and a Ryeland House Bloggers’ Breakfast with Anne Neary, while Niall ‘Bressie’ Breslin takes part in Feed Your Mind & Eat Yourself Calm. www.savourkilkenny.com

ALL THAT JAZZ
Maintaining a vintage theme, with a screening of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby (Oct 21), a colourful evocation of the Jazz Age and ticket price includes a mixed platter and cocktails made from sublime Blackwater Distillery Gin, with an especially warm welcome for those who make the effort to indulge in a spot of 1920s-style fancy dress.
