All eyes are on Rio. Perfect timing then for the ‘Ireland’s Olympians’ exhibition at the GAA Museum in Croke Park, Dublin.

Showcasing the country’s winning medalists, there’s a special emphasis on 1924 when Ireland first competed as an independent nation.

Think medals and memorabilia from many of Ireland’s 26 successful Olympians, including the first medal won by Ireland post-independence by Jack B Yeats at the 1924 Paris Games, awarded in the Arts & Literature Category.

Given Ireland’s boxing success at the Olympics, it is no surprise it dominates, with the gold medal won by Katie Taylor also on show.
