Trend of the week: Summer work wardrobe

Look the business with our summer office edit, says Annmarie O'Connor.

Investing in a corporate capsule wardrobe can be a clever career move.

The clothes may not maketh the woman but, when it comes to the office, they certainly provide some non-verbal clues.

Although different industries have different dress rules, there's a prevailing sentiment regardless of whether you work as an accountant or a graphic designer: don't allow what you wear to overshadow what you have to offer.

? Don't overlook details. A sharp bag, tablet case, watch or foulard promote a simple suit to boss material.

? Casual Friday? Always err on the side of caution. Avoid anything worn to the gym, nightclub or beach. If in doubt, ask yourself: “Would I have a meeting with . . . "
