Trend of the week: Animal prints

Go wild and get ready to unleash your spirit animal!

This season, designers take unanimous inspiration from the big cats of the wild.

Think leopards, cheetahs, jaguars and tigers (oh, my!). Whichever you prefer, the vibe is to strut your stuff with pride.

Granted, the animal print coat may be a killer trophy piece but there’s equal kudos in fiercely feline heels and statement bags. It’s a maximalist style statement so be prepared to walk the walk. Still on the fence? In the words of J.Crew creative director Jenna Lyons, ‘As far as I’m concerned, leopard print is a neutral.’

There, sorted!

Dial down animal print trousers and snakeskin heels with a shirt and tie combo paired with a tailored Crombie. Who said you can’t combine business and pleasure?

Don’t be afraid to mix different species. Make like Stella and marry tiger and leopard in the same colourway for extra impact.

A monochrome tiger print puffa makes a purr-fect partner for a more minimal poloneck and trackpant pairing. Just add box-fresh white trainers.
