On the red carpet: Nicole Richie, Bellamy Young, Katharine McPhee, Reese Witherspoon

Nicole Richie’s ensemble fora AOL Fall Premieres party in Hollywood was a combination of 90s influences and OAP-hair.

Her true-blue ‘do gives an edge to this lace-panelled Blumarine dress with rose appliqué. Jewellery completes the grunge-meets-granny-on-Rodeo-Drive look.

Scandal star Bellamy Young looked beautiful in this Pamella Roland gown at the 2014 Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills. The two-toned dress with bedazzled waist detailing is to die for, especially teamed with a Ferragamo clutch and Sylva and Cie bracelets.

I like a coordinated look but Katharine McPhee’s Shosanna suit is just too “matchy- matchy”. The combo lacks imagination, though. Any one of these items could look cute in another outfit. The singer attended the Grand Opening of Infiniti in Beverly Hills.

Reese Witherspoon arrived at the UK premiere of Wild at the Mayfair Hotel, London, in this gorgeous Stella McCartney gown. The contrasting prints look a little busy but the monochrome colour makes them work. The actress’ skin looks more porcelain than usual.
