Trend of the week: Florals

Spring style is in full bloom, says Annmarie O’Connor.

Forget those chintzy blossoms and ditch those darling buds. Florals have gone supernova with a nosegay of newness bursting onto the scene. From dark tulip damasks and giant rosette at Dries Van Noten to fulgent digital landscapes at Clover Canyon and Mary Katratzou, not to mention Christopher Kane’ s scientific petal stencils, this season a garden party like no other.

Do double trending by pairing florals with whimsical polka dot or bold stripe prints.

Team a louche floral sweatshirt with a prim pencil skirt for a fresh take on soft dressing.

Try a floral trainer with this season’s loose trousers and an oversized shirt for breezy style cred.

Not a floral kind of gal? Tropical plant prints make a bold alternative.
