1. Senior Show
The 50 Plus Expo is a dedicated national consumer event for older people and is on this weekend at Cork’s City Hall.
On today and Sunday from 11am to 5.30pm, more than 70 exhibitors will give information to people who are about to retire or already have and want to take up a new hobby or pastime, want to learn about their rights and entitlements and most all how to stay active and look good.

2. Bereavement Help
Anam Cara, the national organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a bereavement information evening on Tuesday from 7.30pm in the Maritime Hotel, Bantry, West Cork.
This is a free event but numbers need to be confirmed in advance on email@example.com or by calling its information line on 085 2888888.
3. On Song
On Friday, The Carrigtwohill Gospel Choir will perform some of their gospel and contemporary classics at Fota House.
They will be joined by Richard Bunn, tenor, who will be performing the “Russell Watson” set, and a specially commissioned gospel piece by singer-songwriter Aoibheann Carey-Philpott, entitled ‘Carry Me’ will be unveiled.

4. Game On
Up to 20,000 gamers are expected to descend on GamerCon at the Convention Centre in Dublin on March 18 and 19.
Sony (Playstation), Microsoft (Xbox), Alienware, Razer and Creative will also participate, together with Red Bull, and the event will have 800 gaming positions in the GamerZone alone.
General admission costs €25 and family passes cost €80.
5. Magical Evening
A Hogwarts Spring Gala in The Morrison Hotel, Dublin, takes place on March 31 in aid of Spinal Injuries Ireland.
The gala will see fans of the Harry Potter world dress up as wizards and witches on the night and take part in games and magical entertainment.
Guests will be treated to a Dingle Gin-sponsored cocktail/potion on arrival and will enjoy a three-course meal with wine, along with prizes, music and dancing.
Tickets for cost €75pp or €750 per table for corporate bookings.
