Tabloids in frenzy as Woods and wife begin counselling

TWO glamorous nightclub workers and an equally eye-catching cocktail waitress have been uncovered as a frenzied US media continues to strip away the layers of guarded privacy which once enveloped Tiger Woods.

Rachel Uchitel, Kalika Moquin and Jaimee Grubbs are now super-famous in the States because they occupy the first three places on the golf legend’s list of possible infidelities.

The first, in media terms, was 34-year-old Manhattan nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel.

“The worst thing is that everybody in New York is talking about me and Tiger Woods now, because their reporters have been calling up everyone I know or have ever worked with, asking what they know about the supposed affair,” she is reported as saying in The Post. “It’s just dumb stuff... I look like a home wrecker and an a**hole.

“It’s horrible to Tiger’s family. His wife must feel horrible. The worst part of it, it’s not true.

“[The source of the story] is not even a friend of mine. I’ve met her twice in my life. I’ve got some really horrible things that I can say about her and her past. I am toying around if I should go after her, because she’s not a credible source... If I was having some big, lurid affair, I would not tell this girl. It’s just ridiculous.”

Worse still are the news reports fuelled by a 23-year-old cocktail waitress from Las Vegas. Jamiee Grubbs claims she met Tiger in Las Vegas in April, 2007. The woman, 21 at the time, began what she says was a long-running affair with Tiger.

According to Us Weekly, Grubbs has more than 300 text messages from Tiger – who married Elin Nordegren in 2004. The magazine claims Grubbs had 20 sexual encounters with Tiger. Us Weekly has photos, racy texts from Tiger, as well as a voicemail from November 24, in which Tiger suggests his wife might be on to the alleged affair.

“He told me just last month, ‘quietly and secretly we will always be together’. I loved how we got along. But I knew, in the back of my mind, there could never be just us. There would always be the wife, or somebody else,” Ms Grubbs is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Life & Style in the US is taking the credit for exclusively revealing the identity of a woman who has “quietly been seeing golf star Tiger Woods for months ” and as recently as late October.

Kalika Moquin, a marketing manager with a Las Vegas nightclub, is the third woman to be publicly linked to Tiger. Life and Style’s source is an “insider” who claims that Tiger said to Kalika Moquin that he was not happy in his marriage and that married life isn’t all it’s built up to be.

The New York Daily News quotes Moquin as saying: “It’s not appropriate for me to comment one way or the other.”

Other US media sources indicate that Elin Nordegren Woods, the mother of Tiger’s two children, has demanded and is getting a total rewrite of the couple’s prenuptial agreement.

The couple are said to have begun intense marriage counselling at home.
