Man hurt in Cork shooting

A man was injured in a drive-by shooting on the northside of Cork City last night.

Another man was arrested nearby a short time later and was still in Garda custody last night.

The shooting occurred in the Courtown Avenue area of Knocknaheeny just after 9pm.

Two men on a motorbike pulled into the cul-de-sac, with one opening fire on a man in his early 20s who was standing on a footpath. The victim received a gunshot wound to his arm and was taken to hospital.

It is understood the incident is linked to a feud between two gangs in the area.
