Irish star of ‘Outlander’ Caitriona Balfe in it for the long haul

Golden Globe-nominated Irish actress Caitriona Balfe has just recently wrapped a movie with George Clooney but has no intention of leaving the time-travelling smash hit TV series which catapulted her to fame.

The beautiful Monaghan star, who worked for 10 years as a model before beginning her acting career, is set to get pulses racing with an erotic cover shoot with her hunky co-star Sam Heughan in the period TV hit Outlander, which is based on a series of eight best-selling novels by Diana Gabaldon.

The stars, who play Jamie and Claire Fraser in the hit series, posed for next month’s cover of Entertainment Weekly ahead of season two’s return in April.

Balfe, who stars alongside George Clooney and Julia Roberts in the upcoming Money Monster, said: “I don’t forget examples of people dying to get off shows that make them successful and you never see them again. Opportunities like this don’t come along very often.”
