An Irish clinic chain has reported a 100% spike in demand for Brazilian bum lifts in the wake of Kim Kardashian’s ‘internet-breaking’ photoshoot of her famous derriere
The provocative images of the reality star’s bare behind in the high-fashion magazine Paper caused a sensation all over the world, with mixed reactions to her oiled-up naked curves.
Now, Irishwomen are among the droves around the world bidding to emulate her voluptuous shape with non-invasive Brazilian bum lifts.
The augmenting procedure liquefies fat on the buttocks and lifts the shape into a more curvy-style behind made famous by celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce.
Jennifer O’Donovan, spokeswoman for the Therapie Clinic chain in Ireland, says there has been a 100% spike in demand for the non- invasive cosmetic procedure since the much-talked about photoshoot.
“People are literally walking in the door with cut-outs of the pictures,” says Ms O’Donovan. “It happened within a few days. The number of bookings has doubled.
“They’ve heard she uses this machine and they want the treatment. It’s Kim Kardashian and the whole Kardashian family they are talking about when they come in.
“From the body treatments point of view, the non-invasive bum lift is definitely the most popular treatment now. We have been doing this treatment for the past 12 months in our clinics around the country but we can see from the figures there has been a spike in demand [since the photoshoot].”
Although Irish women don’t tend to be genetically bestowed with voluptuous behinds like their Latin American and African counterparts, Ms O’Donovan says they are looking to enhance their figures.
“People are looking for curves,” she says. “The curvy figures have become more acceptable. It’s normally women with a pretty average size bum but they want it lifted and shaped to look better in a bikini or whatever.
“A doctor in Brazil came up with the treatment because there was such a demand for it in those countries.
“Anyone in their late 20s up to 40s are the main group of women looking for the treatment. The Velashape 2 machines lifts and plumps what you have. You can’t increase fat.”
The Brazilian bum lift uses a combination of bipolar radio frequency and infrared heat with vacuum rollers to travel through the body’s layer of subcutaneous fat.
“The combination of technologies melts the fat pockets that cause dimpled and lumpy skin, repositioning some of the malleable fat for a more appealing buttock contour,” says the spokesperson for Therapie. “Broken-down liquefied fat is then disposed of naturally by the body.”
The procedure, which promises a 40% lift during the first treatment, takes just 40 minutes,” says Ms O’Donovan.
Meanwhile, Irish women are also going under the knife to achieve ultra fashionable super-sized bottoms .
Buttock augmentation surgery, which has been highly popular for years in places such as Miami and Brazil, is now in demand Ireland.
One of Ireland’s leading cosmetic surgeons, Ahmed Salman, from Auralia Cosmetic Enhancement, recently revealed that Irish women are looking for gluteal implants or a buttock augmentation to achieve the perfect posterior.
He said: “The whole objective is to give the inverted heart-shaped bum.
“You have to have a desire and want a bigger bum and secondly you have to be suitable for surgery and your expected results have to be realistic.”
