Fan hurt in fall at Ireland match

Scottish police have confirmed that a 22-year-old fan has been hospitalised after falling from a height as Ireland succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Scotland in tonight’s European Championship qualifier in Glasgow.

It is understood that the man was in the Scottish section of the ground, but police could not confirm his nationality at the time of going to press.

A police spokesman said he was being rushed to hospital in Glasgow.
