Microsoft lift for students

CHILDREN at a Kilkenny school are learning with some of the world’s leading technology after being chosen to join an elite support programme by software company Microsoft.

Scoil Naomh Fiachra in Freshford, Co Kilkenny, has been given a mini-laptop “tablet” computer for all 33 pupils.

The school has long been regarded as one of the most innovative under the principal, Tommy Maher, who won a global teaching innovation prize two years ago.
