Dublin Bus in cost-saving plans

DUBLIN Bus is to press ahead with major cost-saving plans on Sunday in spite of a union rejection of the proposals and the likely threat of significant strike action.

The company will press ahead with taking 120 buses from its fleet, something which the workers yesterday voted, albeit very narrowly, to oppose.

That rejection was in spite of their unions negotiating the removal of considerable job cuts from the cost-savings in talks at the Labour Court.
