Kerry householders with septic tanks have recorded a 100% compliance rate in registering with local authorities.
The registration rate nationally is 86%, with a total of 427,952 registering.
A total of 392,952 have registered online, by post or in person with an additional 35,000 awaiting processing.
Environment Minister Phil Hogan said: “The department is consulting with the local authorities regarding the approach to be taken in respect of unregistered systems. Owners of domestic wastewater systems who have not yet registered may still do so and there are no late payment fees payable.”
In response to a Dáil question tabled by Timmy Dooley (FF), the minister confirmed 28,277 households registered in Kerry.
