Thousands expected to attend Macra’s dog-racing fundraiser

Thousands of young farmers are set to break social event attendance records for their sector by attending this Saturday’s ‘Racing for Macra’ night at the dogs.

Macra na Feirme is hosting fundraisers in four venues — Cork, Galway, Mullingar, and Waterford.

Macra president, Kieran O’Dowd, said: “The ‘Racing for Macra’ event is set to be a fantastic night out for past and present Macra members and supporters. Proceeds from the event will support the work of clubs in their local communities as well as services delivered at national level to rural young people.”

* Tickets cost €10 and are available from local macra clubs.
