Ornua adds to US food services with CoreFX Ingredients acquisition

Ornua will offer new services to its customers with the acquisition of CoreFX Ingredients, a powder ingredient facility in Orangeville, Illinois, USA.

Ornua acquired CoreFX for around €5m. It is understood that Ornua will invest up to a further €5m developing the facility over the next three years.

A division of MCT Dairies, CoreFX uses spray drying and dry-blending technologies to produce dairy, cheese and lipid powder ingredients for US food manufacturing and foodservice customers.

Ornua CEO, Kevin Lane, said: “This acquisition will provide our ingredients division with greater scale and enhances our capability to deliver bespoke ingredient solutions.”

CoreFX designs bespoke ingredients specific to its customers’ requirements for taste, melt point, texture, mouth feel, cost and shelf stability.
