Kerry Macra’s Know Your Neighbour event was held recently at the South Kerry Ploughing Championships in Fossa, Killarney.

Well-known locals including All Star Kerry Footballer Aidan O’Mahony, Cllr Maura Healy Rae, rugby player Siobhán Fleming, Kerry IFA chairman Seán Brosnan, former Macra Munster vice-president James Healy, and Kerry Macra PRO Edel O’Connell, were auctioned off on the day for charity.

The championships were held to raise funds for the Kerry Cork Health Link Bus, a vital service which offers transport to Cork University Hospital for cancer patients.

The 25-seater coach brings patients to an average of 3,600 lifesaving appointments annually.

As well as the ploughing, visitors enjoyed a car and tractor show, live a show, a poultry sale, and a barbecue, along with a “best dressed” competition for men and women.

The locals didn’t escape the Super Soaker either, with the Macra favourite once again proving a big hit on the day.
