A baling challenge in July, in France, resulted in New Holland’s new Big Baler 1290 Plus with a T7 Heavy Duty tractor making 1,254 high quality square straw bales in 17 hours, over two days.
It maintained a consistent bale shape, averaging 434 kg, and length averaged 2.37 metres.
The LAMMA 2017 machinery show at Peterborough in England on January 18 and 19 will introduce the baler to UK farmers, along with New Holland’s Roll Baler 125 and Roll Baler 125 Combi.
The new film wrap system on the Roll Baler 125 Combi round baler (also featured on the Roll Baler 135 Ultra) is unique to New Holland. It has a positive hydraulic feed that can be set to pre-stretch the film for a tight, secure and reliable wrap.
Wrapper speed is is 20% faster than on the previous model.
At LAMMA 2017, New Holland will also show the new NIR On Board advanced sensor on the FR Forage Cruiser, which can provide information on key crop parameters such as moisture and nutrient levels, including crude protein, crude fat, starch, Neutral Detergent Fibre (NDF), Acid Detergent Fibre (ADF) and ash, measured with plus or minus 2% accuracy.
NIR On Board will be available as an option on new machines.
