Coming up for public auction on Thursday, March 20, is a 41.5-acre farm near the village of Doon, Co Limerick.

The sale will take place both online and at the auction rooms of GVM Auctioneers in Limerick City Centre.

It will be presented in two lots:

  • Lot 1 consists of 27.2 acres with a derelict residence that may allow planning permission for the next owner;
  • Lot 2 is 14.3 acres of land, located across the road from the first lot.

The public road dividing the two lots ensures a generous amount of road frontage and the grass holding is laid out in easily managed divisions.

“It is well watered and fenced,” said selling agent John O’Connell, “and it’s ideal for all types of farming, including beef, dairying, equestrian or hobby farming… it’s good quality free-draining soil.”

The property is at Coolbaun, 4km away from Doon village and there is mains water supply to the holding.

“There’s a good level of enquiries so far on it,” said Mr O'Connell. “Both lots are ideal for someone, whether hobby farming or for an expanding farming operation.”

The price guide is around €15,000/acre.
