Stockjudging competition winners

Limerick: Top prize in the national senior final of the 2005 Macra na Feirme dairy stockjudging competition was won by Eddie O’Flynn, Ballinascarthy, Co Cork, while the U 23 final was won by William Horgan, Killarney. Runners-up were Michael Gowing, Portlaoise (senior) and John O’Sullivan, Whitechurch, Co Cork (U23).

The finals took place at the on the farm of Patrick and Derrick Frawley in Croagh, Co Limerick.

The competitors had to do a test, followed by the score-marking in order of merit of a pen of heifers and a pen of cows.

They also answered questions on the technical aspects of dairy farming.
