This is the best way to a person's heart this Valentine's Day

A personal card or handwritten letter is the way to someone's heart on Valentine's Day.

A survey from An Post has revealed over 80% of us think that is the most romantic gesture.

When it comes to social media, 85% think people have a tendency to "over-share".

Anna McHugh from An Post says a personal touch is the way to go.

She said: "Sharing soppy posts or lovely dovey things on social media is just cringe inducing.

"Social media is fantastic but there is a time and a place and when it comes to personal messages we really shouldn't be over sharing.

"A personal touch, a personal card, that is the way to do it."

People are being encouraged to get their Valentine's Day cards or letters in the post this morning to avoid disappointment.
